For Hindus red is a very important color, it is used in auspicious occasions like  wedding , birth  of child and many others. It is also symbol of power according to Hindus some very important uses of Red in Hindus culture.

Red thread : Hindus used to wear red thread round their wrists\. during any ritual ceremony . This red thread is called mouli.

Red Mehndi (Heena) ;  In Hindu wedding bride hands and legs are decorated by mehndi. and red bangles.
 Red flower has its own importance during Hindus worship. flower like  hibiscus, red rose.
 Hibiscus is offered during worshiping of goddess  Durga.
Lord  Hanuman temple i.e hanuman ji is always coated with red color sindoor This is another importance of Red color in Hindus.
There is a story behind it why Hanumanji is coated with red sindoor  The story is like that
 mata Sita used to coat the parting of hair with sindoor .Then one day Hanumanji asked Mata Sita why she use the sindoor . Mata replied Hanuman this red sindoor would bless Lord Ram  with prosperous and long life.
After listing to this Hanuman ji came with his full body covered with red sindoor .After seeing this Lord Rama asked about the sindoor . Hamumanji replied that " Mata Sita had ,told me that this red sindoor will give you a long and prosperous life. So I thought if a pinch of sindoor can do much , then why not put it to whole body. After that , 
Lord Rama gave a boon that all his believer who will apply sindoor to Hanuman body during puja would be blessed with happiness.
